I create characters, some based on real people but mostly fictional. These I publish here in text and audio. These I can perform live, or simply share online for entertainment. They all reflect a part of my recovery journey and so are part of my recovery in performance ethos.
Paddy
Paddy was a character I met on a cold night in an East London church whilst searching for recovery from addiction. Most of the story is fictional but his white beard and sketchbook are real.
Sasha
Sasha is a fictional character created in a workshop at the Islington peoples’ theatre, using props as inspiration. His themes are love, immigration and life.
Marcus
“There’s smart and too smart.” I was in treatment with Marcus. We could not have been less alike. Most of this story is fictional but based on truth. Thank you Marcus. You helped me a lot. Thank you for permission to use you as my inspiration.
