I often meet, see or imagine people who inspire my imagination. These characters I may use in performance to illustrate a point or to simply have fun. When sketching people I have briefly met, I take the liberty of inventing a backstory that may include facts that they have revealed to me but the characters that I create from those snippets of information are fictional. Other characters may be inspired by objects or even dreams. I treat all my characters and scenarios with respect and hope that any fun I have with them is not at their expense. I try to inhabit them as an actor would.
